Nightclub Security Expert


Understanding how bars and nightclubs operate through direct experience has allowed Alan to be accepted as an expert in litigations that occur in these environments. Experience in numerous cases involving liquor liability and third party assaults to intentional tort actions provides additional foundation for expert opinions. He has been certified and accepted as an expert by judges in numerous jurisdictions across North America specifically for Liquor Liability/Dram Shop, Nightclub and Bar Security and nightclub operations. He has also worked and managed security in these environments.

As an experienced based expert he has a well-grounded grasp of security operations and has the ability to communicate to the judge or jury in a meaningful, focused and understandable manner. He is knowledgeable in the civil procedures to include the process of discovery and the preparation of comprehensive expert disclosure reports. He prepares professional trial exhibits and demonstrative exhibits for clear and concise communication to the trial of fact for the best possible presentation to assist in obtaining a favorable verdict

He has conducted specialized training in bar and nightclub security management for the University of Nevada in the Gaming management program at UNR and at the International Gaming Institute at UNLV. In addition he has conducted sessions on bar and nightclub security at international security conferences on the subjects to include the Global Gaming Conference (G2E), International Security Conferences (ISC), Nightclub and Bar Show, International Hotel and Restaurant Show, and the ASIS International Annual Seminar and Exhibits.

He has also been contracted to conduct training for numerous nightclub operations in the areas of guest protection, prevention of fights and altercations, managing social behavior, responsible beverage service, report writing and deterring undesirable activities to include prostitution, club drugs and lewd behavior. Additionally he has been independently retained for compliance investigations regarding nightclub operations.

He is a licensed security consultant in Nevada which allows for all types of investigation and field work to include site inspections, interviews, measurements and all aspects of security consulting. Nevada requires that any security consultant submit for background and suitability and be licensed and insured to perform professional security consulting including training or furnishing advice on security.

Alan performs management consulting, risk and vulnerability assessments, policy and procedure development, covert nightclub security audits, and customized training programs for bar and nightclub environments.

As an author Alan has written numerous articles involving hospitality environments including security in bars and nightclubs.
